Perkampungan di perkotaan sebagai wujud proses adaptasi sosial daerah Jawa Tengah
In line with population growth and increasing status. The city of Semarang is experiencing a twin development process, namely expanding its area outwards and improving facilities within the city itself. However, the pace of improving these facilities is not as fast as the rate of population growth. As a result, on the one hand, residential complexes emerge with increasingly perfect facilities, and on the other hand, settlements emerge with increasingly worse facilities. This latest residential complex generally appears in areas whose designation is unclear. This settlement is classified as a poor village. The targets of this research were two poor villages, each in the center and on the outskirts of the city. Residents of the two poor villages studied generally work as laborers and other unskilled workers in the city center. This type of work is a response to the low level of education and skills they have. Furthermore, because of this type of work, their average income is low. It's just that city center residents are luckier because travel costs to and from work are relatively smaller compared to suburban residents. To increase family income, suburban housewives plant gardens and sell them at the city center market.
